I have lived in the area for sometime now and I only came to find George W. Childs Recreation Site last summer and to my surprise it was just around the corner. I am not a heavy hiker as you can see from the picture, I am wearing sneakers. This recreation area has become one of my favorite get away spots. There are times that we become so involved in our busy lifestyles that we do not get time to stop and enjoy what beauty there is around us. This Recreation Site is a hidden beauty, it's timeless and untouched. So if one day you need a break from the hustle of what life brings, take a drive and then a hike to George W. Childs Recreation Site and just relax in the beauty that nature has to offer. So when you are up visiting, you may find me there either all bundled up in the winter, maybe during the summer dipping my toes in the clear pools of water, in the spring having a picnic or in the fall enjoying the breath taking colors. Remember to take time to explore because you never know what you will find just around the corner.
